Overview
Atico Mining is a Canadian-based company focused on developing and operating copper-gold projects in Latin America. Drawing on the extensive operational experience of management and directors in Latin America, the company's strategy is to build a mid-tier copper-gold producer by acquiring advanced-stage projects with potential for high-margin operations and sustainable organic growth.
Atico's principal project is the El Roble mine, located in Carmen de Atrato, Colombia. This operating underground mine has processed approximately 4.5 million tonnes of copper-gold ore over the past 30+ years. Recent evaluations by Atico have identified high-grade mineralization below the lowest production levels at El Roble and defined Proven and Probable reserves of 0.83 million tonnes grading 2.49% copper and 2.20 g/t gold.
With a deposit open at depth and along strike, the 6,355 hectare project supports management's objective of scaling-up production using newly discovered high-grade resources and El Roble's existing infrastructure.
Atico's second asset, called the La Plata project, is a development stage asset in Ecuador currently going through the permitting process. The company recently announced a positive feasibility study and is working towards advancing this asset through to production.
